THE LOVE OF GOD

 


God's deepest desire for us, which is also our deepest desire, is to know the love of Christ and be filled with the fullness of God.

  • Knowing His love and believing that He loves us is what satisfies our longing.

God loves us all, and His love is unconditional and unlimited. He sent His only Son to die for our sins, and whoever believes in Him shall not die but have eternal life.

John 3:16
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life."

God made His love so intact that nothing can separate you from it; neither our past nor present can separate us from His love.

Romans 8:35-39
Verse 35: "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?"

  • His love is not like worldly love, for which you need to work. He simply loves us as we are.
  • God's love is divine, perfect, and infinite. The Scriptures have clearly revealed this to us.
  • It is a gift greater than all gifts; human knowledge cannot understand it. He demonstrated it when He gave all He had to rescue us.

In order for this love to complete its purpose here on earth, it is our duty as believers to spread this gift Jesus gave us to all mankind, for He gave this to us as a command.

John 13:34-35
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this, everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another."

  • As disciples of Jesus, we should love people unconditionally.
  • Let's put effort into getting to know our community and those close to us.
  • Share the Word of God and pray with them, also bearing each other's burdens, forgiving each other if misunderstandings occur, and building each other in faith and holiness. As we continue to do this, God's love will have an impact on society.
  • The strong or weak, rich or poor, young or old—every one of us will live and experience this truth and love God gave us through His Son.

We might think or say, "If we are loved by God, why do we suffer so much?"
God sees how we suffer, and He is with us in all our suffering. No tear you cry has gone unnoticed by your heavenly Father.

Psalms 56:8
"You know how troubled I am; You have kept a record of my tears. Aren't they listed in Your book?"

Our God also promised that He is going to end all suffering.

1 Peter 5:10
"And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm, and steadfast."

Also, read James 1:2-4.
Jesus also prays for us to the Father when we go through seasons of suffering.

Romans 8:34
"Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us."

FIND TIME TO UNDERSTAND GOD'S LOVE

  • He cares about your life and wants to be part of it.
  • You might have spent your whole life running away from Him or done things you regret, but He still loves you and wants to have a relationship with you.
  • His love is unconditional and infinite.
  • Be patient as you go through this process.
  • Set aside time to read His Word, pray, and have quiet time in His presence.
  • Do not fear anymore, for you now know you are not alone.
  • You now feel so secure that nothing can separate you from His love. Whether it is suffering, sorrow, sickness, hunger, or any circumstance, you now understand that His love surrounds you.
  • His love is your shield, keeping you safe.
  • It is a guarantee that He will never let you down, for His love will never fail you.

Psalm 36:5-7
Verse 7: "How priceless is Your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of Your wings."

His love allows you to change and grow into the person He wants you to be. As you let go of your old self, you will start living in your new identity.

  • He gave us the Holy Spirit as our Helper and Mentor to walk this journey in Christ Jesus.

So together, may we join hands and let this love overflow from us to the whole world, starting with the community we live in. May it be like a tree that produces fruit to feed the whole creation.

ARE YOU READY TO GO?

  MATTHEW 28:19-20 Jesus said, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of age. Jesus is instructing us to go, we should obey and take the gospel to the ends of the earth, then we will see more people in fellowship, more people educated in the truth and more people praising God.
