REDEFINED ME: A NEW CREATION IN CHRIST





God, through the work of Christ, brought a new creation into existence from nothing, redefining our lives through His grace. He offers complete renewal to all who come to faith, redefining us through salvation. This is God’s great work—He forgives sin and offers eternal life to anyone who believes in Him as a free gift of His grace. We receive a new identity, redefined through our Lord Jesus.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE REDEFINED?
To redefine means to reexamine, reevaluate, rename, or revisit something, changing its nature or boundaries. In Christ, we are given a new identity—a complete transformation of who we are.

Ephesians 2:8-9
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast."

Jonah 2:9
"Salvation comes from the Lord."

Through salvation, God renames us as His children, offering us a new identity and purpose in Him. This change redefines us into a new creation.

John 1:12
"Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God."

Romans 5:8
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Believing in Jesus means that you are now redefined—an identity rooted in Christ, which cannot be shaken or changed.

Redefined Comes with Instructions
Being redefined in Christ means living according to His Word and remaining united with Him.

John 15:4
"Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me."

Just as a branch must stay connected to the vine to bear fruit, we must stay connected to Christ. Here’s how we can do that:

HOW TO REMAIN IN THE VINE
- Know God's Word
To understand God and live in His will, we need to know His Word. This deepens our relationship with Him.

- Prayer and Worship
While going to church and praying are part of worship, our deeper relationship with God grows as we study and meditate on His Word.

- Remain in God's Love
Jesus calls us to remain in His love through obedience.

John 15:9
"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love."

- Obey God's Commandments
Remaining in God’s love is demonstrated through obedience.

John 14:15
"If you love me, keep my commands."

- Love Others
When we live in God’s love, it naturally flows into how we treat others.

- Be Doers of the Word
Don’t just listen to God’s Word, but put it into practice.

James 1:23-25
"Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says."

LIVING AS REDEFINED FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST
To live as redefined believers, we must not deceive ourselves. We cannot go to church, hear the Word, feel redefined, and then leave and forget who we are. Our transformation should be preserved through daily living as Christ’s disciples.

John 8:31
"If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples."

Luke 9:23
"Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me."

Being a disciple is a lifelong commitment. It’s not a one-time decision, but a lifestyle practiced daily until it becomes part of who we are.

Defining Ourselves by God's Truth
In a world that constantly tries to redefine us, we must stand firm in the identity God has given us. Jesus provides the ultimate definition of truth:

John 14:6
"I am the way and the truth and the life."

We are called to be active where we are—at home, in our communities, and in our workplaces. If we stand firm as the salt of the earth, our impact can bring repair and restoration.

LIVING AS SALT AND LIGHT
As believers, we are called to maintain personal holiness and touch the lives of those around us. Jesus calls us to let our light shine for others to see:

Matthew 5:16
"Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."

In humility, we must work for justice, show mercy, and strive for peace. As people of blessing, we should carry the light of Christ into every aspect of life, from our homes to our nations. Pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance in all that you do.

2 Corinthians 10:5
"We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."

To conclude, being redefined in Christ is not a one-time experience but a journey of daily transformation. As we remain in Christ, live out His Word, and share His love with others, we become agents of change in the world. Let’s stand firm in our identity, redefined by God's grace, and let our light shine for all to see.

ARE YOU READY TO GO?

  MATTHEW 28:19-20 Jesus said, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of age.
