During the toughest times in your life when everything seems to crumble, rediscover yourself. Remember your identity . Know what your Father, your Creator says to you.
Isaiah 41 : 10
So do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you, I will uphold you with my righteous hand.
Clinging or holding onto God is to maintain an unwavering faith and trust in Him even when faced with challenges. It's about leaning to God's presence, guidance and comfort regardless of circumstances surrounding you. That's living your life journey with God as the guiding force.
PSALM 73: 28
But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge, I will tell of all your deeds.
Hold on to God's promises and get strength to face your darkest hours. Know that you are not alone, hope is around the corner. Always find comfort in the Word of God and receive an unshakable connection to God.
You might have been thrown into the darkest pit or standing at a crossroads, deepen your bond with God by diving deep into the life saving wisdom of the Bible. Be uplifted by the amazing power of faith!
The Scriptures are like taking a shower..no matter the dirt that you have accumulated, they will clean you up and leave you refreshed and ready to start your day.
HOW DO I HOLD ON TO GOD?
- Always remind yourself that you are a child of God. Your Lord Jesus died for you on the cross, you are forgiven and set free. You are here on earth for a purpose.
- Seek God in prayer:
JEREMIAH 33 : 3
'Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.'
PHILIPPIANS 4: 6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
- Trust in His plan for your life.
You need to put your trust in God's plan for your life stated clearly in the Bible. Also trust in the unchanging nature of God.
PSALM 115: 11
You who fear him, trust in the Lord he is their help and shield.
MALACHI 3: 6
"I the Lord do not change. So you, O descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed.
- Engage yourself in reading the Scriptures, gain strength, hope and be inspired. Turn your faith into action by practicing the Word, eg, be positive and remember your testimonies they help you see the light ahead of you for he is faithful. Remind yourself you are not alone for we received the helper the Holy Spirit who is within us.
MATTHEW 24: 13
But he who stands firm to the end will be saved.
HEBREWS 12: 1
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
We are in a race. Let us be alert and watch out for any entanglements to make sure we stand firm as we wait for our Lord to intervene. We should stay committed to our personal relationship with God. Know that you are Jesus' family and He is involved in all your personal matters. So do not allow your faith to be wavered by the harshness of your circumstances.
PSALM 46:1
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
DEUTERONOMY 33: 27
The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemy before you, saying, Destroy him! '
- Fully surrender, let go of your own control and give it all to God, submitting to His will and trusting in His powerful wisdom. The storms will calm down and the inner peace in you will fill all your surroundings, darkness will flee and light will shine.
JAMES 1: 17
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
The Bible teaches us that God is reliable and always present, He is unchanging ready to support those who put their trust in him.
- Be consistent in fellowship with the body of Christ the church and involve yourself in serving God and other church activities. Set aside time for yourself to be in the presence of God during the week to keep the spirit of the Sabbath. Also listen to praise and worship music it uplifts your spirit.
- It's ok to seek counseling and guidance from church elders or pastors if the situation is overwhelming. Also consider fasting, it helps us to draw near to God and feel more of the presence of the Holy Spirit.
- Avoid isolating yourself, meet with family and other people sharing God’s Word and praying together. Also take some walks to reflect God's nature of creation.
- Always be alert and set boundaries avoiding non Christian gatherings and places that interfere with your relationship with God.
By clinging to God we will be able to stand our ground against the arrows of the devil and be able to overcome all circumstances we face, as we walk our journey in Christ. So hold on tightly to Jesus and the darkness you are passing through right now will soon be history. You will testify of His glory. Amen.
