A NEW FAMILY

Have you ever wondered what it really means to be a Christian? What it means to be a child of God?  Well, being a child of God is to understand who you are and grasping the importance of the sacrifice that Jesus made for you. The bible says in 2 Corinthians 6 vs 18 – “And I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to Me, Says the Lord Almighty.” This clearly states that you now have a new Father who desires to have a relationship with you, just like any real father would. So your identity as a Christian is that you are a child of God and it is a sure guarantee!  It’s the same as how you don’t question your identity as a person. You are who you are, your name and surname, and your parents are who they are. There is no doubt in your mind that they are your parents, it’s just the way it is. The same kind of faith is what you need to exercise in acknowledging who you are as a Christian. When you choose to become a Christian all the promises in the bible come in...

KNOWING OUR HELPER: THE HOLY SPIRIT

After accepting our Lord Jesus as our personal Saviour, most of us Christians still struggle in many areas of our lives because we don’t know the Holy Spirit is in us. He is part of the Trinity God the Father, God the Son and the Holy Spirit.   In John 14 vs 15-20, Our Lord Jesus Christ speaks about Him, ‘’And I will ask my Father, he will give you an advocate who will help you and be with you forever, the Spirit of Truth. The world cannot accept him nor know him. But you know him, he lives with you and will be in you.’’ What an amazing truth that we have an advocate and helper who lives in us! Now let us look at some steps to discover this Helper of ours: Firstly, we must acknowledge that Holy Spirit is in us living inside of us, just as our Lord Jesus said. Once we acknowledge Him, it’s time to know more of who He is so that we can start living accordingly. Galations 5 vs 22 gives us the nine attributes of a person living in one accord with the Spirit of God, these in...

PEACE

Peace and faith go hand in hand and are seeds sown in you. Peace is also the harmony of body, mind and spirit trusting in the power and grace of God. However, it needs to be watered in order to grow and bear fruit. Let’s look at what the scripture says about peace: Philippians 4:7 says And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guide your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5: 23 says May the God himself, God of peace sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, body and soul be kept blameless in the coming of our Lord Jesus. According to the above Scriptures; Peace is also accepting, understanding and believing that it is in you through our Lord Jesus. The day you received Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour you received peace. Peace is what God gave you in a Divine Exchange when He sacrificed His Son on the cross. You may have faced many challenges in life or might be in a difficult situation now and asking where is the peace? As m...
